Breakfast with a view of the water at Cafe Regatta in Helsinki

Cafe Regatta is what someone in a review somewhere I read said: A ‘happy place’. And I cannot agree more than that. It is a happy place indeed. A little place and piece of heaven.

It was a lovely sunny Sunday morning and what better way to enjoy the weather than a fresh walk in the city and have breakfast in a happy place. This gorgeous little wooden cottage cafe is located near the Sibelius Park on the water in the middle of the yacht marina. There are only four tables inside and luckily there’s many outside.

I wanted to take pictures of the interior of the little cafe but there were many people squeezed together inside the little hut, the queue was too long, this place seems to be very popular with the locals! So I retreated with my tray of coffee and broccoli croissant and searched for a table outside.

And as you can see in the pictures, it was a very busy morning at the Regatta. There is a strange rule however at this cafe, that if you get a refill of the coffee, you get 5 cents back. A cup was enough for me, thank you.

Cafe Regatta is open everyday.

Views along the first marina that I passed on my way to Cafe Regatta.

A nice place to hangout and perhaps have a little picnic.

It was already busy when I arrived.

Isn’t this a happy place?

My breakfast: Finnish traditional coffee which interestingly is very good and croissant broccoli.

I found a table and a view =)

Lots of tables outside and a nice view to a part of the marina.

In the summer they have barbecues here.

A very lovely Sunday. I am glad I came here for breakfast.

If you are in Helsinki, this is a gem worthy of visiting. Have a cuppa.
