Irish Paddy and Molly Malone

Molly Malone is said to be the unofficial song of Dublin… and you can find her statue on Grafton Street (near Trinity College).

“In Dublin’s fair city,
Where the girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone,
As she wheeled her wheel-barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,

Crying, ‘Cockles and mussels, alive, oh!’
‘Alive, alive, oh,
Alive, alive, oh’,
Crying ‘Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, o’.â€

Someone know this jolly Irish Paddy’s name?

If you have been to Dublin, you will probably recognize this regular figure who seem to accompany Molly Malone all the time on Grafton Street. The old man is a street musician, as well as a real entertainer who has the habit of dancing his cares away with Dublin’s tourists. Of course for a fee.

Nothing is free in this world. Especially not for the Irish and the on-going massive Euro bail out. Good luck.
