Bru and I did the drive from Amsterdam to Paris a little over 5 hours. After checking in to our hotel (will show pictures later) in Bastille-Le Marais area and refreshing ourselves a bit, we took the metro to Champs Elysees. Luckily our hotel is located around the corner from Voltaire Metro. We are getting off at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Metro stop on Champs Elysees.
We did a bit of shopping admittedly. Bru wanted to go to Gucci to check out their jewellery while I think their scarves are worth the money. Unfortunately, we got sidetracked by other shops such as Massimo Dutti where we bought some stuff and by the time we were done with this distraction, most of the stores were closing down.
Anyway, it’s our first night in Paris, and even though I have a throbbing headache, I must have my champagne!
You see I cannot stand too much sun. It was bloody hot during the entire drive to Paris. The air-conditioning was blowing on my face but the sun was glaring at the windshield so I was having both hot and cold flashes at the same time making my system totally delirious. Ironic is it not for someone born in a tropical country, but honestly, I cannot stand the sun.
Here are a few pictures of our drinks + people watching at Café George V on Champs Elysees. We have a very strategic table, just how we wanted it to be =)
