If you like the combination of 1950’s ballroom jazz, dancing to the beat of mambo tango and some Amy Winehouse and Adele jumble, then there’s this up and coming singer to watch that you will simply love. Her name is Caro Emerald and she is from the Netherlands.
Blondine and I braved through the 10-centimetre deep snow conditions and watched her concert last night at the Heineken Music Hall in Arena Boulevard, Amsterdam. Her 3-day concert was sold out! We were quite lucky to have booked early.

Before the concert Blondine and I had dinner in this swanky lounge bar and restaurant across Heineken Music Hall. Dutchman and I ate here before, a few years back when we watched Simple Minds. The restaurant serves fastfood style fare and believe me food here is served quite fast. In short, you do not really pay for the food but for the ambiance, and of course, for convenience. I love its cool blue bar.
