This lobster place just opened in late 2014. Located in Mayfair on Binney Street just a few steps across Selfridges, this is a perfect shopping break for a lunch or snack after hours of shopping on Oxford Street.
While most people come here at Smack Lobster Deli for the lobster rolls and courgette fries, I came here for the lobster itself, and the courgette fries as well of course =)
The place is a blend of restaurant slash fast food slash take-away. The concept is chic, modern, quick and casual. Like everything goes. It’s self-service, you order on the counter and you get this electronic gadget that buzzes and flashes red lights when your order is ready to be picked up.
The restaurant has a very simple menu: lobster rolls in 4 flavours, whole or half lobsters, lobster chowders and courgette fries.
There are 2 seating areas, on the ground floor just at the back of the order counter or at the basement which is quite spacious. There is also a bar below. The interior is dark, punk, industrial yet very stylish. I like it.
I was really craving for lobsters so I ordered a whole one for myself. This was one of the freshest and juiciest lobsters that I have eaten. I really, really, really enjoyed this lunch very much. The Courgette Fries were equally lovely as well, I could not get enough of them. They were fingerlicking good.
Verdict: Happy! (Sea)Food makes me happy =)
