Castlepoint on the coast in the south of North Island, New Zealand.
New Zealand’s natural beauty has many faces.
Our road trip unexpectedly took a turn and brought us to a route that we did not plan at all. However, this was a route that I, personally, have enjoyed so much. We camped here at the beach and it was my best night ever. I remember the lovely sound of the waves of the sea lulling me to sleep and waking me up in the morning.
Hope you enjoy a few of the pictures. The real story of this part of the road trip will follow soon.
The drive from Lake Taupo to Napier. Isn’t New Zealand breathtaking?
Our light salad dinner on Bluff Hill in Napier.
View of Napier from Bluff Hill Domain.
Our loyal campervan in Castlepoint. I had the best evening sleep here in Castlepoint. I guess because of the sounds of the waves that sent me to a deep and relaxing sleep.
It is a long way to drive to this place in Castlepoint, passing through zigzagged terrain that reminds me of the mountain villages in the Alps in Europe.
It was very windy outside, so we didn’t take out the camping chairs and table, and decided instead to eat our breakfast inside the campervan. Well, the view was not bad at all.
Moi from the top of the wooden stairway in Castlepoint.
Feeding the hungry birds at Henley Lake Park in Masterton. There were a couple of elegant black swans here as well.
Very much in the autumn at Henley Park Lake.
SisterJ driving the last part of the super windy zigzagged high road cliffs to Wellington. New Zealand is right-hand drive and they drive on the left side of the road.
