I love deep fried cod fish. Not the healthiest kind of food out there. That is why we love it, right? =)
So I am in England (last March) and I knew that I can get Fish and Chips anywhere so I made sure to eat this quintessential British food for dinner one evening. The question is where? Because Bath has quite a number of restaurants in town offering Fish & Chips.
Whilst walking around town I passed by Garfunkels on North Parade just in front of the Parade Gardens before reaching Pulteney Bridge. The restaurant is housed in a nice historical building and the location could not have been more central than this. Not too far away as well from my studio apartment so it is looking good! Evening came and I came back =)
Now this Fish and Chips at Garfunkels came with the mushy green peas. Mushy peas by the way is traditionally British and is often an accompaniment for Fish & Chips. I may not have told you but green peas are my favourite vegetable! I buy the frozen ones and it takes them seconds to cook. I put them in my noodles and add them into any dish I make. But mushy peas? Nah, not a favourite of mine, but I will still eat it. I prefer them though eaten as whole tiny peas and not mashed.
The fried cod on the other hand was really nice.I could have another one of this right now and I would be ecstatic.
