Going up to Namsan Park

In Namsan you’ll be able to appreciate how massive Seoul is.

Seoul is like Manila, a conglomeration of district cities that forms the capital. However, Manila does not have a special mountain peak such as Namsan where you can stand on top and witness the forging of these districts.

I actually went here on my own. Clearly, men and women have different interests in life and I am not going to push mine into Dutchman’s throat nor would he do that to me as well, so we decided to split our ways for a few hours. A sweet and a very practical compromise. We always do this in our travels and I think this is one of the ingredients in the success of our relationship: compromise, give each other some space to do what each want and some privacy as well.

He’s going to the biggest electronics mall in the world—Yongsan Electronics Market.

The electronics market boasts of 5,000 stores. Knowing the Dutchman, he’s not going to buy, he’s just going to look. All these tech stuff is a man’s thing. I’m not going to follow him around ogling at electronics appliances and technology gadgets stall after stall.

I’m headed to Namsan Park!

Then I’ll go up the tower and have traditional Korean lunch there with all the magnificent views. A date with myself so to speak while the Dutchman surveys that boring electronics market. Well, he actually thinks what I’m doing is boring as well, so we are even, haha.

I did the quick route and went up with the cable car. There are hiking trails as well around the mountain.

The N Tower at the top of Namsan (english translation: South Mountain).

Myeongdong below… I am meeting the Dutchman later in the afternoon at a corner coffee shop near the blue building, see you later…

A lot of people and families with children come here at Namsan Park to chill out and enjoy the nature park and lovely views.

Love is the most overrated and overstated thing in the world. The side effects: a lot of people are looking for love, in the wrong places and for the wrong reasons. Pink and red are the favourite colours here.

People will write anywhere just to express their love for someone. I have travelled to many places and these love chain locks are not surprising anymore. People from all races and nationalities will always find ways to showcase their love even through these cheesy locks.

Next… I am going up the tower to show you the awesome views of Seoul, so wait for that.
