Fountain Show at Quebec City Hall | Quebec City, Canada Travel

I have read somewhere that the City Hall Square Garden with Fountain just opened last year during summer, just a few months after my visit there in October.

The whole project costs approximately $21.8 million (Canadian dollars).

This was in fact the first thing I enjoyed in the city. I parked my rental car in the garage under the City Hall. You get out of the parking garage through the City Hall Garden Square. I can’t help but smile when I was welcomed by the lovely place.

It’s a nice small garden square with dancing colourful water fountains. It is a great little piece of Quebec City to hang out if you have some time to burn. There are tables and chairs here where you can sit down and have a little picnic, or perhaps relax a bit with something to read. Oh, and some sculpture art as well. The garden square is not very busy at all.

The dancing water fountains are not as impressive in the mornings though than compared to in the evenings. At night they turn into a pattern of colours and design. They become a dazzling light and fountain show, and the best thing is – its free!

Check it out when you are in Quebec City.

The parking underneath is also the best place to park in the city. You cannot be central than this. From a western European standard, parking in Quebec is not expensive at all.

DURING THE DAY:

This sculpture on the corner of the garden square is stunning, a real eyecatcher.

AT NIGHT:

The water fountains turn into different colours. They are red here, but later they will turn into another colour.

And there’s some complementary display of lights as well reflected on the City Hall’s facade.
