A bar with a view in Cebu (Blu Bar & Grill) and some food finds

I am a sucker for any bird’s eye view of a city and because I detested the horrible traffic in Cebu I was looking forward to escaping to the mountains. Will post another story about our visit to steep TOPS but for a quick and easy trek to view Cebu City from the skies, the a thousand feet high panoramic ‘BLU Bar & Grill’ at the plush Marco Polo Hotel located in Nivel Hills, Lahug would suit the need.

This hotel with the glass capsule lift used to be the Cebu Plaza Hotel where my generation once hanged out for our circa 1980s disco fix (read: Bai).

I don’t really recommend the Blu Bar & Grill for dinner (honestly, not value for money) BUT DO COME HERE FOR THE VIEWS! The open-air rooftop terrace is breezy, the colours have a cool let-us-chill-here effect, perfect for after dinner drinks (coffee, tea, spirits or anything else) while enjoying the romantic evening view and city lights of Cebu.

As for my interesting finds. Look at what I got! Something salty and sweet =)

Wow! The first vegetarian chicharon! (vegetarian cracklings or pork rinds) Guilt-Free! 0g fat. Haha!

Mister Donut – Donuts ‘n Dip. Interestingly for a not sweet tooth type, I really liked this! The store manager told me it’s a newly released product going at Php45. They market the chocolate dip as Belgian chocolate.
