Munster, Germany Postcards

munster germany

The beautiful and historical buildings on Prinzipalmarkt. They were restored to their original details after the World War II.

Hi, just back from a quick visit to Munster, Germany. I went there with the 3-generation female side of the Dutch family—the Dutch mother, the Dutch sisters and the Dutch nieces with moi being the odd in the family. It was an all girl’s trip. And odd because I am the smallest and the only one who isn’t blonde =)

I have many stories to tell of course. The city is beautiful, one of the understated places in Germany. The busy and exciting, as always, Christmas Markets. Munster is surprisingly a nice place to shop! The yummy eat places we discovered.

Here is a Munster TRIVIA:

Did you know that the Netherlands (represented by the 7 united provinces of the Netherlands) and the Kingdom of Spain fought with each other for 80 years? This is the famous 80 year’s war or the Dutch Revolt against Spain. It was in Munster that peace negotiations was started, and eventually on 1648, the peace treaty between the fighting nations was signed. The treaty is called ‘De vrede van Munster’ (Peace of Munster). The Netherlands gained independence from Spain and was recognised a state/country.

But for now, let me post the rest of my postcards…
