Czeching the Jewish ghetto: Parizska high street and the 2 clocks

What is notable of Josefov are the striking buildings. So I went for a walk admiring the beautiful buildings and their elaborate and luxurious facade details along Parizska street.

Can you believe this place was once a ghetto?

Parizska is the ritzy high street of Prague. This is home to well-known signature boutiques and because it was a Sunday, many shops were naturally closed. I didn’t mind window shopping for a change which means just standing from the streets, watching through the windows and not buying ;-)

On another note, one of the most interesting tourist sites in Josefov as well are the two clocks on top of the Jewish town hall:

1) The Roman clock
2) The Hebrew clock, the hands turns counterclockwise

The Jews are like the Chinese, they read backwards. Their books are backwards too.

The Roman and Jewish clocks, and the Jewish Town Hall.
