Dublin under the pouring rain and more city scenes

One morning while walking on O’Connell Street I got caught under the pouring rain. Like the Netherlands including Belgium, as well as it’s big sister, the United Kingdom (especially Scotland), rain is part of the daily life in Ireland.

I have no raincoat or umbrella so I took refuge on the doorsteps of Gresham Hotel. There was something familiar about the hotel, like it was one of those hotels I have stayed before during quick business trips. I guess deja vu’s happen sometimes.

Anyway, there was not much to do but wait for the rain to stop and while doing so, I naturally took fotos. It was rush hour after all, everyone was trying to get to their destination fast, even under the pouring rain.

And here are a few more important sights of Dublin:

St. Audoen’s Church circa 1190 (see tower on left foto) on Coornmarket, Dublin.

The Christ Church Cathedral circa 1030 on High Street intersection, very impressive piece of architecture.

And more random Dublin city scenes:

Next on my Ireland travelogues: the lovely Co Wicklow countryside!
