Ah, our last day in Sarajevo!
Have you heard of the Bosnian War and Genocide in the 1990’s? For the young generations and for those living outside of Europe, perhaps you have not.
First things first, I am not a religious person. I do not believe in any god or deity of some sort. I used to though. But that was a looooong time ago. Like, some 20+ years ago.
Stari Grad is the old town center of Sarajevo and within Stari Grad you will find BaÅ¡ÄarÅ¡ija, the inner old town, the remaining vestiges of the Ottoman Empire in Bosnia & Hercegovina. This blog post, however, is about the other part of Stari Grad.
The Old Town of Sarajevo or BaÅ¡ÄarÅ¡ija as it is called was built in the 15th century by Isa-Beg Isakovic, an Ottoman general of Bosnian origin.
On our 5th day in Val Cenis, which was a Wednesday, a massive snowstorm fell. It was our first time to experience an official snowstorm in the Alps.
Our third day of skiing is probably the most epic we’ve had in this Val Cenis winter sports holiday in the French Alps.
Seriously, last winter, we only had one (1) single sunny day skiing! We weren’t that lucky.
I have been having these wintersport pangs in the last weeks. Winter is coming and I miss the snowy mountains. I miss skiing.
Dutchman and I love our forest walks at the weekends. Our go-to place is the Utrechtseheuvelrug forest, which is not too far away, and for this particular walk, we picked the area of Leersum.
