Temperatures have gone up today already but there is still snow on the ground, however yesterday the Netherlands was in deep winter white wonderland. It snowed all day yesterday until in the early morning when snow turned to slush and then rain.
Above foto is my favorite of this set taken in the heart of Utrecht by the old Utrecht City Hall square in Oudegracht with the DOM Tower (circa 1254) in the background. Moi, covered up and ready to hit the snowed streets of Utrecht!
While shopping for gifts yesterday for Sinterklaas, I was able to take a few fotos of Utrecht Centrum in winter wonderland. The ambience of the city was really lovely, parents tugging their kids along from shop to shop in sleighs, women dressed like they are in the heart of Siberia (I need to find my Russian furry hat), and oh, I have also seen Sinterklaas! Twice in fact, haha! As well as I took lots of fotos of sweet goodies for the season so will be posting this next.
Hope you like my adopted city, Utrecht =)

The DOM Tower, the symbol of the city and more shopping street scenes in Utrecht.
In the heart of Utrecht. The other week I had dinner with Blondine in the Tapas Restaurant in the cellars of Winkel van Sinkel (the yellow beige building in the foto).
On the Oudegracht by the Stadkasteel Oudaen (Oudaen City Castle) circa 1280 now a restaurant, a theater and a brewery. During spring until autumn, they open their cafe terrace on the streets by the canal and you can find me here on a weekend with a glass of rose or witbier when I am in town.
Cafe terraces and birds on the Oudegracht.
