Georgian ‘Irish Doors’ on North Frederick Street and the River Liffey

My hotel was located on the northside of Dublin and I always pass by North Frederick Street across the Remembrance Garden which interestingly is not open to the public, every day while I was there, and every time, I always notice the doors of each building on the row. I thought it was very charmingly Irish—Georgian style, embodied by the canopy and column portal structure design, so I took a foto of all the doors on the street.

Here is a collage of Georgian Irish Doors:

These doors were taken on North Frederick Street (street continues to O’Connell Street).

The ‘River Liffey’ also known as ‘Anna Liffey’ (Irish: An Life) flows down from the Wicklow Mountains through the city dividing the northside and southside of Dublin and flushes out to the Irish Sea at Dublin Bay (view to this bay from the plane was exquisite, too bad I was not able to take a foto or video).

Here are some of the prominent structures along the river and some nice views as well.

On the River Liffey by day

O’Connell Bridge (Irish: Droichead Uà Chonaill) circa 1882 on River Liffey, a replacement bridge of the original bridge called, Carlisle Bridge circa 1791.

Four Courts (Irish: Na Ceithre Cúirteanna) on River Liffey as well, a neo-classical building housing the Supreme Court, High Court and Circuit Court.

Another neo-classical building, the Customs House (Irish: Teach am Chustain), now a government building.

The striking black Butt Bridge (Irish: Droichead Bhutt) near the Customs House on River Liffey, and the tallest building in Dublin.

An outdoor cafe on the River Liffey quay along Bachelor’s Walk with the view to O’Connell Bridge.
