Further walk towards Plaza de Nicaragua, we heard music and this is what we found in the middle of the garden:
Many people brought their own folding chairs and sat under the shade to watch and listen to the concert.
A gazebo (that is used for concerts) with a symphony orchestra. Oh, cool.
I noticed that Spaniards are culture enthusiasts, they are not only gastronomically inclined but they love to enjoy other aspects of cultural enrichment by reading books of local origin and listening to music as well—classical music I mean, especially the older generation.
Short video of the Symphonic Orchestra concert. Please forgive me for my below average filming skills.
Hmm, with Spain’s economic woes I am wondering who is paying for this symphonic orchestra? If the country is truly in deep shit, then I think they better start living below their means. First things first.
Each country’s government reflects the citizen’s mentality and lifestyle. It is annoying to see many European countries spending money as if they actually earned it, and when their spendthrift ways boomerangs, they run crying back to big mama in Brussels for help. It is just so irresponsible. Why spend so much when you cannot afford? Is it not shameful to ask other European countries to pay for your debts? To live off from someone else’s tax?
Quite ironic really that the youth are protesting at Puerta del Sol and we find this musical luxury just a few hundred metres away, for free. Like I say, someone has got to pay for it. The Spanish government perhaps? Who knows? OK, this might not be a good example to use, but it doesn’t matter, the point is clear enough.
The sick children in the EU: Spain, Greece, Portugal, Ireland and even Italy are spending 100 Euros when they are only earning 30 Euros. Sadly, we see this with a lot of people as well.
Anyway, enough of the rants, see a few more fotos below:
Plaza de Nicaragua.
This woman coloured her dog with blue highlights, well matching the leash and her bag, looks like it. LOL
