In Stockholm: Smoked Salmon for lunch at Ostermalms Saluhall and a quick visit to an octagonal church

When I visited the food court I wasn’t that hungry yet but I was already surveying the place where to eat for lunch. I spied on some oysters and thought I am going to try them later.

After going around the food hall, taking fotos and enjoying the pulsating ambiance of the place I decided to go out to chill a bit and inspect the surroundings. I was thinking of taking a walk along the quay. However, my plan was met with rain showers. Not really sure what to do, I ran across the square and entered a gate leading to a beautiful church, the Hedvig Eleonora Church. I thought this is a better idea than being soaked wet outside. It’s a good place to stay dry and kill time while I wait for the rain to pass by. Well tough luck, the rain really didn’t stop.

My delicious Smoked Salmon lunch!

The Ostermalms Saluhall Building, you cannot miss this when you see it.

I didn’t want to waste more time so I decided to go back to Ostermalms Saluhall for lunch. Looked and looked for oysters but they were suddenly impossible to find. They were sold out! It made me so angry at myself. Why did I not grab the opportunity earlier? I want to kick myself, lol. When I want something so bad I really make sure I get it. Helaas not this time.

Anyway, I chose the most easy option available—Smoked Salmon, a very Nordic food invention. The restaurant is called Tysta Mari. I loved the chilled Chardonnay. The smoked salmon was 4.5 stars out of 5.

Like in IKEA, they always sell salmon, with mustard and dill.

Quite full! During lunch time it is hard to find a place in Ostermalms Saluhall.

Smoked salmon with green salad and white asparagus, some knäckebröd (crisp cracker, typically Swedish or Nordic) and chilled chardonnay.

But before lunch I snacked on this fish:

This was mwah. I was attracted to it because it looked like the fried fish we have in the Philippines, particularly in Cebu.

The Hedvig Eleonora Church is an octagonal church circa 1737. It is located on corners Storgatan and Sibyllagatan.

Here are fotos of the Hedvig Eleonora Church:

The church is just across the market hall.

Loving this nautical door handles of the church. Both dressed in leather, the other one new.

The Roman Catholic Church love gold. I mean just look at the Vatican.

Cool details of the church benches, they are even numbered.
