Back in Madrid from Toledo

So after half an hour ride with the fast Renfe train from Toledo, we were back in Madrid just before sunset. We loved our Toledo side trip but we were happy to be back again in town.

Madrid Atocha Train Station.

We were greeted with the Madrid traffic on Arganzuela District.

We were so tired from the day’s outing, we napped a bit in the hotel. When we woke up it was already quite late and we were not in the mood to paint the town red. I told Blondine I am going downstairs to chill at the patio restaurant, will read a book and perhaps drink a glass of wine as well. Well yeah, I take that back, I will definitely drink a glass of wine! I remember that this designer hotel’s patio is very trendy so that is a plus.

Eventually Blondine followed and we decided to order something to eat. We wanted something else on the menu but it was almost 23:00 and the hotel personnel said only pizzas are available as they are quick to make. I even struggled to get her some olives for me. Moreover, she spoke horrible English. I was doing sign language with my super rusty Spanish.

Anyway, she got impatient and said she’s closing down soon. Okay, fine. Pizza it is. She did try to serve us though. Fair enough.

We ordered pepperoni cheese. 4 stars out of 5.

So that’s how our day second day ended up. A trip to Toledo and a night in our hotel. The next day is another day in Madrid. Stay tuned.
