On my third day in Copenhagen I crossed the river to Norrebro, a neighbourhood known for its multi-ethnicity.
Trivia: Did you know that Denmark has a very strict policy on immigration. I don’t know how strict Denmark is compared to the Netherlands that requires new immigrants to pass the Dutch language exam before being issued a visa, as well as the petitioning Dutch national passing a number of stringent requirements related to age, income, etcetera.
Anyway, this post has nothing to do with immigration and multicultural stuff, but about running.
Along the Soerne river that separates the core centre of Copenhagen (Indre By) and Norrebro I encountered many joggers. It’s a bit late in the morning when I walked on this part of Copenhagen and my destination is Café 22 for my Sunday brunch.
This area of the city seems like a joggers haven. I even saw a few dads running with their babies. Yeah, like pushing the pram. Huh, not sure if that’s cool or what? I worry about the father hitting a rock on the road and falling over and oh well, you can only surmise what will happen to the baby?
I used to run. Now I don’t. Am I lazy? Maybe yes. Who cares. Well, I am at the point in my life where I am only doing things I like. I want to be pure and to be honest to myself. Because I see running as utter torture. I’ve tried it before and I never seemed to really like it. So I stopped. I have stopped.
Life lesson to live by: Be yourself. Do things you like doing.
So I prefer walking over running. And I walk a lot during my travels.
