When Blondine and I arrived in Sancti Spiritus (about an hour from Trinidad) we right away check out the local street market.

Spotted this churros street vendor in the local market near the pedestrian shopping zone. I was so tempted to buy. I just want to taste it really and find out if they taste the same as the churros in Spain. They are selling these in CUP$ (Cuban National Peso) but I only have CUC$ (Cuban Convertible Peso). Some vendors are nice and honest enough to convert the exact amount from CUP$ to CUC$. Many do not, they just overcharge unsuspecting visitors.
But do I really buy street food when travelling? Yes I do, it all depends on what type of street food it is. Most of the times I am already full from lunch so I just pass up the opportunity and taking pictures is enough to fill the curiosity void.
A few more pictures here of the local market:

We initially parked the car across the church which is on the same street as the market. I thought there was something not right with where we parked the car so we came back. After the much needed scrutiny of all the signboards in Spanish (whew!) on the street we realised that we parked illegally. Luckily we did not get a ticket!
