I’ve read online before the Seoul trip that Namsangol Hanok Village has Taekwondo shows between April and November. Our visit could not have been more perfect with timing. When we arrived at the Hanok village we already saw the on-going stage performance of the taekwondo participants. But it was only in the late afternoon that the official ceremony dance and taekwondo event took place.
We really enjoyed this free Korean martial art public show at Namsangol. The picky Dutchman did not complain and even watched the show until the end. Now that is a feat!
I understand that taekwondo has become a very popular sport nowadays, even becoming an Olympic sport, but I see this as part of Korean culture. Very refreshing.

On other news, it is Valentine’s Day today. Dutchman and I do not really celebrate Valentine’s Day. It’s not that popular here in Holland except for the younger people who like to be trendy. The older ones don’t even know there’s a day like this that exists.
But because it’s Valentine’s Day today let me say that I am one of those lucky ones to have found love. I’m grateful that I have found my soul mate and my best friend. The Dutchman is my everything.
