Singapore is home to many hawker centres and stalls, or for the Singapore uninitiated, fast food oriental-style stall restaurants located in food centres or streets in every neighbourhood. One of the best hawker areas in terms of good food and ambiance in the center of the city, or rather country is…
Makansutra Gluttons Bay
Website: Makansuntra Gluttons Bay | Facebook: Makansutra
This hawker centre is a delight! It is open-air and is located right on the Marina Bay beside the Esplanade and across the Marina Bay Sands (read here our visit to Ku De Ta (Skypark), Marina Bay Sands) and the Singapore Skyline. You have a choice of selected hawker stalls to enjoy, but the views here are, especially in the evening, your prime indulgence. It is exceptionally amazing.
SisterJ and Myrrh were hunkering for barbecued chicken wings, they say one of the stalls here make them really good, while I am in the mood for seafood and some noodle base Singaporean dish.
So here is our dinner: Steamed Cockles, Barbecued Chicken Wings, a plate of Char Kway Teow noodles (stir-fried flat rice noodles) and Coconut (literally) Juice. The sister settled for soya drink (I miss this!).
After dinner we went for a relaxing stroll along the Marina Bay and Esplanade. The views here are beautiful. Stunning! It was a lovely warm evening with a little bit of wind which is always a nice welcome in very humid Singapore.
If you find yourself in Singapore, come here and dine al fresco, and enjoy the spectacular views.
