Cafe Loetje (Amsterdam): The Best Beef Steak in the Netherlands?

I know many who are loyal to Cafe Loetje and claims they have the best BIEFSTUK (beef steak) in the Netherlands.

The cafe restaurant has a few branches in the ranstad (the metropolitan ring of the Netherlands) and Blondine and I went to their newest one in the north of Amsterdam which is located in a yacht haven. In fact the cafe restaurant is a yacht dock itself and is a lovely setting during summer when the outdoor terrace facing the haven and the IJ River is open to the public. March was too early for this so Blondine and I settled inside the cozy restaurant.

What can I say? I am more a seafood person but this steak was indeed very, very, very good. I am giving it 4.5 stars out of 5 and this is a very high rating for me.

Cafe Loetje is also very popular with a certain type of crowd, i.e. business owners, corporate types and what we call here in the Netherlands, kakkers =)

If you come to the Netherlands and are looking for some good old meat, try this one out. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

We came here with the car but other ways to come here are of course with the bike and the boat from Amsterdam Centraal Station (which is just right across).
