Street Art on Spuistraat, Amsterdam

When it comes to street art there is no need for words… but I cannot help caption a few of them =)

These pictures were taken on Spuistraat in the centre of Amsterdam. I was on my way to a dinner appointment a few metres from here and I did not expect to see these stunning street art really. They made my night because the Fruits de Mer I had for dinner did not meet up to plan.

In remembrance of a great man, Nelson Mandela.

The Snake House, with a banner to save it from going back to its rightful owner. Squatters have been living here for the last 31 years. I have mix emotions about squatters, especially in a first world country. I believe this building hosts some underground parties as well.

Wasplaats means washing area. Indeed, a nice background for a photo shoot =)

During moments like these I wish I have a professional camera instead of my Sony pocket point-and-click camera but then again I would be complaining that it is too heavy to bring around.

This corner of Spuistraat is converted into an artist’s haven. Psychedelic in one word. Even on the street’s ground you can see some art here.

I think I have seen these two somewhere. Do you have an idea who they are?

Lots of different stuff here going on.

Spuistraat in Amsterdam Centrum. If you follow this street you will reach the Spui Square (which is where you can find the Begijnhof and the nearby shopping street, Kalverstraat).
