I love taking the metro or subway when I am travelling in a foreign developed country. In London they call this the Tube. Don’t you just love its logo?
Taking this ultimate metropolitan fast public transport just gives me the thrill. They go every 3 minutes in London so you are never too early or too late for any.
Finding out the different routes I can take just makes me excited. I am on a mission. The map is like a crossword puzzle to me. Some people even call the London Tube — a mess of spaghetti. Now that is daunting! But no worries, I always love a problem solving situation you know.
The only struggle I experienced here is the tiny free Tube map. The map is ridiculously small, I could not see the colours of the routes and names of the stops! I have to admit that this is partly my fault as I am still in the denial stage. I really need to go to an optometrician very soon.
I bought an Oyster Card and loaded it with a few Pounds. I probably have an Oyster Card misplaced somewhere in the house from many years ago. A single journey costs £2.30 but when you reach the £6.40 tariff ceiling each day, you can then travel unlimited for the day. I like this capping concept.
These are the Underground Metro Stations (that I managed to take a picture) that I used when I was in London recently.
