Well I am afraid I have bad news to break to you. I am not. I understand though that many of you love ‘Sense and Sensibility’, ‘Pride and Prejudice’ and ‘Emma’ but I really do not have any patience for dragging drama. In my teenage years I prefer to read detective books and I craved for conspiracy theories. I also do not like reading novels or watching movies where women are treated like wallflowers and dainty objects that need proper care and safeguarding.
Isn’t it great that we are all different? =)
So I knew that Bath is synonymous to Jane Austen but I didn’t feel the need to walk on her footsteps. While I was on my way to The Circus and the Royal Crescent on Gay Street, I passed by the Jane Austen Centre. I couldn’t help but take a picture. Also because a fine gentleman with a long hat in a tuxedo tailcoat was standing next to the door welcoming visitors.
Further up Gay Street is The Circus, a great example of Georgian architecture in the mid 18th century. It is quite elegant. I just wish the garden in the middle had flowers growing on it because it was bare. For such a graceful and historical place I was expecting it to be gloriously presented.
Here is The Circus on the map of Bath. I made a walking direction from the Jane Austen Centre to The Circus to show you how near they are to each other.
Here is the link for those who love the romance during the Victorian Period: Jane Austen Centre. Although, I do not really think I would mind at all going for Afternoon Tea at the Regency Tea Room. Now that is a good idea for next time.
