Strolling around London City and the Tower of London

So I have been to London many times and I have never really taken a lot of pictures of her, except for this trip last March. Mainly because everytime I am travelling to this city, it is always for work. When it is work, you see less, and in the process you take less pictures.

In the last years though I have promised myself to try my best to take pictures when I travel for business. Pictures for me are my ultimate souvenirs, and this blog is my living journal where I showcase them and share to everyone.

I will be back here in London in a few months, and you guess it right, it will be for work again this time.

Nevertheless, last March I managed to take a stroll one afternoon around London City financial centre. It was a weekend so the streets were quiet than usual. I went to the Leadenhall Market and walked towards the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge.

I have never been inside the Tower of London. I find it too touristy and never really had the desire to go in. It was also my first time to set foot on the Tower Bridge after all these years of visiting the city. When you travel to a city for business, for some reason its touristy appeal becomes less exciting.

Of course I cannot take this opportunity empty handed so I took pictures of my walk.

The Monument to the Great Fire of London. There is a viewing platform at the top. Hmm, maybe I come back here and climb to the top for the views.

An underground toilet for the gentlemen and ladies right in the middle of the street in Victorian style wrought iron design. Quite interesting.

They call this curvy building, “The Gherkin”. You know pickles, cornichons. I love them. They are a staple in my fridge =)

All Hallows By The Tower Church.

Moi posing with the Tower of London behind me.

The Tower of London. Who knows, I may one day be interested to go inside.

Back at the hotel I finished the Ginger Beer I bought at a little shop in London City during the stroll and checking out the map where I have been for the day.
