More Pictures of the Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Canada

My trip to eastern Canada last September-October (2015) seemed so long time ago now.

I posted in the blog earlier about the demonstrations in front of the Parliament Hill. You can read it here: Demonstrations in front of the Centre Block Building on the Parliament Hill

While I was here I took naturally a number of pictures. I do not really have much story to tell for this entry and for the Parliament Hill, except for the demonstrations, because my visit here got interrupted by the rain. Ruined is a more suitable term I guess. You can only plan as much as you can, because mother nature always wins in the end.

There is a free tour of the Centre Block building which I was keen on joining but helaas I had to let go of this. The rain did not stop lashing so I wasn’t able to go back here in Parliament Hill to explore the area and visit the buildings. *sigh* If I find myself back in Ottawa I will surely do this free tour.

Canada has a parliamentary democracy system and the government basically sits here in the Centre Block building of the Parliament Hill.

TRIVIA: Did you know that Canada’s new Prime Minister, Justine Pierre Trudeau is one of the few world leaders with a tattoo? Or at least he is the only world leader right now that has a tattoo.

Churchill and Roosevelt both had tattoos by the way.

These are the rest of the pictures I took in Parliament Hill before the rain poured down non-stop.

The buildings on the Parliament Hill are called West Block, Centre Block and East Block.

The House of Commons and the Senate are located in this building, the Centre Block building.
