I am in Cologne, Germany every week for work which usually means long days for me as I do not stay there overnight. I am old, in my mid-40’s so long days for me does take a toll on my body. And I also just had recovered from Pneumonia. But work is very important and I am willing to make sacrifices as I want to retire early and enjoy life fulltime soon =).
Sometimes I take the train from Utrecht Centraal Station (NL) to Köln Hauptbahnhof (DE) which is a much relaxed way of travelling than driving/travelling with the car. Plus, on the train you can work. The only downside is internet, as it is not free with the German trains (the ICE in this case), whereas with the Dutch trains (the NS) it is. One day internet will be available everywhere for free just like in Seoul, South Korea.
Here is the route with the ICE train:
One of those train days I decided to take the very popular German fastfood snack, the ‘Currywurst’ or the Curry Sausage. I always eat this before when visiting Germany for its Christmas Markets. It’s been a long time since I had one, so I thought it would not hurt to have a little portion before I take my train ride back home.
As you might be aware of, Germany is a meat country. Well, a pork country actually. Not a good place for vegetarians and non-pork eating folks =)
Hmm, since I will be in Germany a lot, perhaps I need to start learning Deutsch?
